eBay is Like Training Wheels for Your Business Career

Don’t know anything about business? What better way to get acclimated to the business world than to start one of your very own?

But what about all the risk, up front cost, legal protection and marketing know-how that’s required to get a business off the ground?

While there’s nothing wrong with starting a business of any kind even when you don’t have any experience (which I actually encourage), a great way to go is to start with an eBay business.

Think about it… With eBay there is very little up front cost to get started, you don’t need to be a marketing genius (because eBay spends millions to bring buyers to you), and you can operate on any scale you like – selling anywhere from 1 item a month to 1,000 items a day.

I’m such a big advocate of this strategy, because it’s how I discovered my passion for entrepreneurship.

My eBay business (at least the beginning of it anyway) was kind of an accident. I became curious about the possibility and pursued it, and from there I was determined to make it work.

At the end of my first official year I had sold nearly $500,000 in products. Soon after, my entrepreneurial curiosity extended beyond eBay.

I wrote a book.

I created software for eBay sellers.

I co-founded an organization for entrepreneurs.

I’ve started writing a movie.

I invested in a clothing company.

And the list continues. And it will expand with each day that passes. After all, I’m only 23 years old.

eBay is a great place to start, and a great place to run a business. But what’s even better, is that your possibilities are unlimited. There is nothing you can’t do, if you believe it to be true, and are willing to take the steps necessary to turn your vision into reality.

Dream big, love your life and go for it!
