Alejandro Turell is the CEO and founder of LastBasic, a startup digital prototyping marketplace where inventors can share their ideas with a community of industrial design and engineering experts worldwide and have these experts compete for the product. He is based in Madrid, Spain, and has a background in industrial engineering. Before setting up LastBasic with the team of cofounders, he worked in a traditional engineering consultancy, becoming frustrated with the lack of creative freedom, high costs, and expanding timescales involved. He wanted to create a marketplace for engineers and inventors alike to work together on solutions to common problems encountered by the average person. He also holds three master’s degrees in business and management, giving him the entrepreneurial skills needed to set up LastBasic.
