Congratulations to Hothouse Botanicals, located in Chandler, Arizona, for being named in the Top 100 for 2014 Home-Based 100 Business Winners and in the Top 10 of the Greenest and Most Glamorous Categories. We caught up with business owner and entrepreneur Stephanie Reynolds and asked her to answer some questions and share some words of advice and inspiration with our StartupNation audience.
Tell Us About Your Journey
StartupNation: What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
Stephanie: I love the freedom of running my own business.
StartupNation: To what do you attribute your success as an entrepreneur and business owner?
Stephanie: All of my products are handmade with healthy ingredients. When I see how excited our customers are about how our products are helping their skin, I know we are making a difference
StartupNation: What ignited the spark in you to start/select your particular business as an entrepreneur?
Stephanie: My mother and aunt both survived breast cancer. Their stories inspired me to create a line of bath and body products that are free from harmful preservatives, toxic ingredients, synthetic fragrances, perfumes and colors.
StartupNation: What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Stephanie:

Words of Wisdom – Inspiration for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
StartupNation: If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be?
Stephanie: The hardest part is getting started, but make sure you take the chance; if you don’t you’ll never know the impact you could have had on the world.

StartupNation: Where do you find your greatest inspiration?
Stephanie: The great feedback I have gotten from our customers/friends/family has been amazing. We have a lot of loyal customers who come back time after time for the products they love and also recommend us to their friends and family. I am proud of the fact that I created products that not only smell great and are good for you, but are really effective as well. When you try the products they speak for themselves; you can’t help but love them.
StartupNation: What is your favorite motivational/business quote as an entrepreneur?
Stephanie: “We are each other’s harvest: we are each other’s business: we are each other’s magnitude and bond.” ~ Gwendolyn Brooks
StartupNation: A motto you live by?
Stephanie: Definitely the golden rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
