WJR Business Beat with Jeff Sloan: GM Putting Entrepreneurship and Innovation to Work (Episode 17)

While the WJR Business Beat typically highlights small businesses and entrepreneurs, Jeff takes a different approach this morning. Across the country, auto makers and their suppliers are stepping up to make additional parts for ventilator production, and GM is doing so right here in Detroit.

GM and Ventec Life Systems announced that they’re working together so GM and its suppliers can make additional parts for ventilators, which are needed by hospitals nationwide as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread.

In a press release issued by GM, chairman and CEO Mary Barra said: “We are working closely with Ventec to rapidly scale up production of their critically important respiratory products to support our country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to explore ways to help in this time of crisis.”
