Good morning, Paul. Well, it goes without saying that having a strong brand is essential for businesses big and small, of course, but for small business specifically, it’s even more critical. You see, you should think of your business’s branding as being very personal in nature, something that reflects your business’s values and distinguishes you from the competition. Remember you have just a few seconds to grab a potential customer’s attention. And part of the way you do that is to have a winning brand.
Now Talkwalker just released the results of its third annual Brand Love report created in partnership with Hootsuite and this report lists the brands that are the most loved, based on an analysis of more than 1,500 brands based on scoring in three basic categories: passion, trust and customer satisfaction. Maggie Lower, chief marketing officer of Hootsuite, said in a press release, “Brands who put authenticity and courageous creativity at the core of their plans are the ones who generate the most brand love.”
The top three? Well, Dolce and Gabbana at No. 3; No. 2, it’s Downy, and at No. 1, Jimmy Choo. Why are these three brands at the top? And what can you do to ensure that your brand gets the love it deserves? First, offer value-driven products that deliver solid social or environmental benefits. Remember purpose matters today more than ever in the eyes of consumers. Next, provide digital experiences that deliver convenience. Three, delight customers by creating personalized products and experiences. And lastly, have a strong set of brand attributes and make sure you reflect those attributes in everything you do and stand for as a business. Authenticity is critical as is consistency.
So to win in business today, make sure your brand is an effective one at driving and retaining consumer engagement for your business. I’m Jeff Sloan, founder and CEO of startupnation.com, and that’s today’s Business Beat on the Great Voice of the Great Lakes, WJR.
