Good morning, Paul!

An important program is open for applications. This one is for black founders seeking capital and support. It’s known as the AWS Impact Accelerator for Black Founders combining the power of Amazon and AWS technology. The focus of the program is to help black founders accelerate their cloud-based businesses for scale and growth in order to support the development of a more diverse business.

Now, the AWS impact accelerator for black founders is designed for U.S.-based black founders, who are the CEO and/or CTO of an innovative tech or tech-enabled startup. The program is open to pre-seed startups with a solution already built and underway and is industry and vertical agnostic. And they welcome both technical and nontechnical founders who are leveraging cloud technologies or those that plan. What do you get if you’re accepted to the program? Well, for starters, you get a $125,000 cash grant and $100,000 in AWS active credits. And it’s a grant. You don’t need to pay it back and you don’t need to provide equity in exchange for it. You win it. It’s yours.

You’ll also benefit from hands-on workshops, roundtable discussions, tech deep dives, and inspirational leadership chats. And it will all be tailored specifically to your startups. You’ll learn from experts behind some of the biggest tech unicorns in the world and the program has an all-star advisory support team, which includes executives, former founders and leaders across AWS, all committed to your startup success. Last but not least, you can connect with your alumni and investor network for mentorship, industry insights and best practices.

This is a great opportunity. And it’s a great program leading to more diversity amongst our entrepreneurial ranks of startup founders. Applications are now being accepted through May 13th. The cohorts will be announced May 23rd through 27th. And the program runs June 6th to July 29th. To apply, go to AWS and click on the accelerator programs that AWS offers. You’ll find this one listed there with all the detail you need to apply.

I’m Jeff Sloan, founder and CEO of startupnation.com, and that’s today’s Business Beat on the Great Voice of the Great Lakes, WJR.
