Good morning, Paul! Here’s a good find. Detroit Stahls is giving small business owners a chance to win a shop makeover worth $10,000. If you’re a local Detroit apparel shop owner, this is your chance to get a refresh for your shop and to get free onsite training and coaching on top of it. Now, Stahls is a printing company that’s been around for 90 years here in the Detroit region, and they have a long-standing history of supporting small business owners. The Stahl family started creating apparel 90 years ago in their Detroit garage and look how far they’ve come to realize their own business. As they put it, with hard work, determination, and a dream our business was born. Today’s Stahls is family owned and operated and the philosophy remains true. As they put it, “customers and employees are all an extended part of the Stahl family.” It’s really worked for them. Now here’s how the program is described on the Stahls website: “The Stahl Family Small Business Scholarship gives you the opportunity to take your apparel decorating business to the next level. Your success is our success.” Now the deadline to apply for this business scholarship is quickly approaching. It’s February 11th. In 2021, the program awarded 21 scholarships to aspiring entrepreneurs. And in 2022, they’ll be awarding these shop makeovers worth $10,000 to every scholarship winner during each quarter of 2022. They say they’re looking for spirited entrepreneurs with the desire and the drive to see their businesses reach new heights. To apply for a 2022 scholarship award to your business, you must meet the following criteria: Have an existing dedicated workspace outside of a residence. It’s got to be a full-time apparel decoration shop operating for at least three years and it’s got to have a valid tax ID. A long-standing Detroit company’s stepping up to help others make their business ownership dreams come true. Thank you to Stahls! You can go to Stahls.com to learn more and apply. I’m Jeff Sloan, founder and CEO of startupnation.com, and that’s today’s Business Beat on the Great Voice of the Great Lakes, WJR.
