If you do a web search to learn how to start a business, you’ll notice that most lists include creating a business plan. You’ll get advice on lawyers, funding and marketing, but there is a key part of the plan missing: your mental plan.
Do you dream of being the next Zuckerberg or Gates? Write it down. Do you want to have true financial freedom? Visualize what that looks like. Do you believe in yourself and your business? Then think it often and set high goals. There are many authors, experts and books on the subject of manifestation. Having gone through the practice several times, I know manifestation works. I also believe that you can have everything “perfect” in your business, but if your head isn’t in the game, you can’t and won’t succeed.
Here are five tips to manifesting small business success.
Acknowledge that you can manifest success
There are surprisingly few things that need to be done in order to activate the manifestation process. It begins with thoughts. We are pulled in the direction of our dominant thoughts, beliefs and visualizations. Our brains cannot distinguish between what is real and what is intensely visualized. So pictures and visual images are incredibly powerful. What we think, read and believe is important because we create our reality.

Write down your plan
Write down what you want. You need to be clear in your mind what it is you desire, and specifics are important. Next, decide what you will do achieve it and when you expect it to unfold. Develop a plan as best you can (you can always refine it) and take the first step. Read your statement twice a day, and remember to visualize the manifestation of success.
Know that you have the power to shape your life
Memorize the following passage written by writer Louis L’Amour:
“Up to a point, a person’s life is shaped by environment, heredity and the movements and changes in the world about them; then there comes a time when it lies within their grasp to shape the clay of their life into the sort of thing they wish it to be. Only the weak blame their parents, their race, the times, lack of good fortune or the quirks of fate. Everyone has it within their power to say, this I am today, that I shall be tomorrow. The wish however must be implemented by deeds.”
Expect bumps in the road
There will be bumps in the road and it is at these moments that your resolve will be tested. Although what the universe delivers the world is dynamic, getting bumped off course is very common. In fact, it should be expected. It’s so very easy to maintain a strong and positive attitude when all is well. The true test of your mettle will be when the seas get rough.
Thomas Edison stated it most poignantly: “Many of life’s failures are men who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

Use life events to your advantage
Life events serve us, and they happen for a reason. As painful as it may be in some cases, avoid thinking of events as simply good or bad. Think of events as your personal curriculum for manifesting your destiny. Do not compare your story either positively or negatively to others, as we are all on a unique journey.
As your journey unfolds, you will find that many successful people often come from challenging circumstances. Do not presume that those who appear to have advantages actually do. The same goes for those who seem to have disadvantages.
I’ll add one more… Buy a f*%king lottery ticket. It’s the punch line from an old joke suggesting that in order to win, you have to play. The same goes for manifesting your dreams. All of us stand in front of doors that simply need to be opened and it is up to us to reach for the handle. This is your opportunity to take control of your mind and your business.
