WJR Business Beat Episode 67 Transcript

Let’s get to our friend, Jeff Sloan with our WJR Business Beat. Jeff Sloan is the founder and CEO of StartupNation. You hear him on the weekends on WJR. He spotlights the entrepreneurial tech and startup community and he does that every morning with us at about this time every morning.

One of his messages now: don’t miss the positive, bright spots that are out there.

Morning, Jeff.

Good morning, Paul.

In the midst of the generational crisis we’re facing with COVID-19, which has killed hundreds of thousands and afflicted millions worldwide, shuttered businesses, created record unemployment and crushed dreams, and during a time in which social crisis and unrest created by actions, that call into question our very nature as human beings, came this…

Five, four, three, two, one zero.

Cutting through all the noise and confusion we are currently experiencing as a society, a Falcon rocket pierced the bounds of gravity and lifted two NASA astronauts into space. And by doing so, lifted the spirit of America and of all mankind, giving us a reason to believe in ourselves again.

Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, Inc., among other visionary endeavors, dared to dream big. And on the back of his vision, leadership and exacting execution, not only took America back into space, he opened the heavens to new research and business opportunities based on public private partnerships, which will be a gateway for other bold visionaries and entrepreneurs to follow.

Thank you, Elon Musk, for showing us that the impossible is possible.

I’m Jeff Sloan, founder and CEO of StartupNation.com, and that’s today’s Business Beat on the Great Voice of the Great Lakes, WJR.

This segment brought to you by Dell technologies.
