Jeff: Good morning, Paul. Success for many entrepreneurs is determined by ultimately selling their company, but optimizing the sale can be tricky and results can vary widely as a result of the merger and acquisition professional you hired to package and sell your company. To help entrepreneurs get the right help, a new startup’s been launched, known as ExitWise, led by Todd Sullivan and Brian Dukes. Todd, tell us about your new startup, ExitWise.

Todd: We’re the leading platform for business owners to create the best possible team of industry-specialized M&A, or mergers and acquisitions, experts to maximize their outcome, the sale of their business.

Jeff: Brian, entrepreneurs may know their businesses well, but very few have actually been engaged in working with an M&A professional, so we know very little about how to pick the right one for our business.

Brian: The path to founding a business, to being a creator of businesses, is a really unique path. And when it’s your first time selling that business, you truly don’t know what that path looks like. And to your point, Jeff, trying to find the right person to help you go through that process is super, super important.

Jeff: Todd, the difference between a relationship defined as good enough and one that is optimum can represent huge swings in the ultimate payout to entrepreneurs.

Todd: So when we’re bringing the best investment banker in the world to a situation, it’s about creating even more alignment to say, how do we hit this grand slam and everybody be happy? If you can find that match, you can drive an enormous outcome, much higher than what a generalist investment banker is gonna do.

Jeff: There it is, ExitWise solving a critical need for entrepreneurs. I’m Jeff Sloan, founder and CEO of startupnation.com, and that’s today’s Business Beat on the Great Voice of the Great Lakes, WJR.
