Good morning, Paul! Good to be with you on this Friday before Labor Day weekend. Before we start thinking weekend too much, we’ve got work to do. And we’re here on the Business Beat this morning to bring you information about a new grant program. Now, every entrepreneur is looking for funding these days for their startup and grants are a great way to seek funding because you don’t have to pay ’em back and you don’t have to give up equity in your company in exchange for them.

One of the things that makes this particular grant program so interesting is that it’s more than just money. It provides tools and information you need to get started and to get rolling with your business that goes beyond just funding. Among other things, there’s a free, personalized learning plan. That includes courses on financing, e-commerce, logistics, social media, marketing, conversion funnels, and more as well as access to one-on-one coaching, community forums and incentives like the latest round of $10,000 grants to be awarded to individual companies.

To be eligible for a grant, you simply have to complete any two courses, coaching events or community events before Nov. 14, 2022. Now this particular grant program is part of Verizon’s commitment to deploy more than a million dollars in funding grants to small businesses with a particular focus on those founded by women or people of color.
