A thirst for knowledge is essential for those who truly want to become successful entrepreneurs. As a small business owner, I know the fundamental challenge that every business owner faces: time.
"I don't have time to read books, I have too much going on right now", I have said over and over again to my friends and mentors who have recommended various books to me written by some of the world's most successful entrepreneurs.
The trouble is, we'll never have ENOUGH TIME. So when do you learn?
You won't.
You need to commit yourself to developing a continuing education if you really want to be successful.
As often as I have brushed off the opportunity to read books that could fuel my growth as an entrepreneur, I have recently taken a solid interest in reading such books (or listening on audio book).
Today I am listening to E-myth Mastery by Michael E. Gerber, the World's #1 Small Business Guru. Michael has an unbelievable ability to move you through his words. On those days where everything feels difficult, frustrating and even hopeless, you need to listen to people like Michael who can inspire you.
Gerber defines entrepreneurship as "The Power to Create"; and that definition could not have resonated better with me. We are all here to create – to create businesses, wealth, prosperity, service and the kind of life we all wish to lead.
It's time to push through and continue to create. It's time to let go of your fear, let go of the negative influences in your life that say it can't be done, and let go of the voice in your own head that defines the limitations you have set upon yourself.
So as Michael says, "Are you up to it?"
