Publishing a newsletter – Recycling content

Many people ask me if publishing our newsletter is worth the effort. It has been more than 4 years and I still I say YES. I think I would have stopped a long time ago had I not found so many recycling opportunities for all of the content that we generate.

I LOVE to be able to recycle content for use in other marketing programs. Not only does it scream brand consistency to consumers, but it means a lot less work too!

Here are some of the ways that we have been able to recycle our newsletter content:

Build web site traffic through content syndication: There are many, high traffic, high profile content sites looking for good articles. Providing our newsletter articles (with a link to your web site) to these sites guarantees traffic to our site and visibility to consumers.

Build expert credentials through compelling articles: We make our articles available as selling tools for our key customers and partners. Many customers value content over free pens and it establishes us as a “go to” resource.

Great content for a blogs and podcasts: We want to be where your customers want us to be, so we publish our content in multiple places – our newsletter articles are found in our podcast and our blog (coming soon).

Drive more sales by writing a book (or an e-book): This is our next step – since we have a few years of content, we now have a product. We’ll be packaging and selling it soon.
