Russell Williams is President and Co-founder of InventionHome and MatchProduct.com. Russell created InventionHome in 2002 as a credible and affordable platform for inventors to explore the invention and patent processes and has subsequently grown the company from a start-up enterprise into one of the industry’s leading organizations with a vast network of manufacturers, inventors and partners. He launched MatchProduct.com in 2008 as a free online marketplace for connecting buyers and sellers of finished “innovative” products.
Russell holds educational degrees from both Carnegie Mellon University (Masters/Management) and West Virginia University (Bachelors/Finance) and has accumulated over 20 years business and entrepreneurial experience.

InventionHome announces that their popular DRTV Product Summit will return for a 4th consecutive year to the campus of Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA on October 22, 2014.
The DRTV (Direct Response Television) Product Summit offers inventors the opportunity to present their products in person and privately to some of the most influential companies in the As Seen on TV and Home Shopping industries.
Top executives from six separate DRTV companies responsible for dozens of hit products including the My Spy Birdhouse™, Stompeez™, Rejuvenate®, Perfect Bacon™ Bowl and Snuggie®, will be on hand to meet inventors, listen to product pitches, and to hopefully discuss licensing or representation.
Twenty-four inventors will be selected to receive 10-minute private sessions with each company in attendance. Products will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Must solve a real problem
- Must be highly demonstrable
- Must appeal to the masses
- Should have finished samples or a working prototype
Most importantly, the product demonstration must be compelling so that a TV viewer is motivated to pick up the phone and order the product. A product that makes the viewer’s life easier, better or more fun in a significant way is required.
Inventors are encouraged to submit their products now for this unique opportunity to have their products seriously considered by the professionals responsible for getting products on TV. At last year’s Summit, 95% percent of the selected products inspired requests for further review from one or more of the companies in attendance. After in-depth reviews, the companies proceeded with ten web tests and/or surveys and three license agreements. In addition, InventionHome was able to secure two license agreements with other non-attending companies post-show as a result of their extended marketing efforts.
