It’s 6:00 a.m., and I just finished responding to a fellow, StartupNation entrepreneur who needed some help.
She has a wonderful opportunity to show her products on a local television program and asked me what to do next.
Since many of you may run into this same “happiness problem,” here are a few suggestions I shared with her:
– Review the key benefits of your products and services.
What do your potential customers want? How can you make it easy for them to buy what you have to offer?
– Develop talking points that you know backwards and forwards about these benefits.
Be able to give your “elevator pitch” at any minute. If you know it well, you will be able to give it with passion, realism and enthusiasm – even when you are nervous.
– Practice doing interviews with a friend on video.
You’ll see where you need to improve and be able to fix “habits” before you go live on the air.
– Create a landing page on your website specifically for this show’s television audience.
On the page, you’ll want to make a special offer just for the show’s audience and provide an easy way to order.
Then, give this website address on the air. You’ll also be able to track visitors on this page with a tool like Google Analytics.
Keep it Simple
For all interviews, you basically need to know what you are going to say and how you are going to say it in advance.
Then, think like your audience members. Give them the information they need and an easy way to purchase. Keep it simple, and you’ll be great!
Hope this helps! Feel free to send me your comments and questions below or at www.rembrandtwrites.com. Thanks.
