Company events

As a business owner or entrepreneur, one of the best things you can do for your company is to host an event in your local community. We’ve spoken a lot about getting your business’s name out in the online marketplace and in print, and nothing generates buzz like a well-organized event. You can also personally generate excitement about a big event through your email marketing campaigns.

Organizing and coordinating a large-scale event can take several months, and cost a significant amount in terms of resources. However, the potential benefits can be widespread and long lasting. If your business has a small staff, or if you are the only employee, you may want to consider hiring an event planner that is familiar with the venues and vendors in the community. These people may already have contacts in the press and will be able to help you get the word out to the community about your event.

You can utilize your email marketing campaigns to create a guest list for your event. In a previous post, I explained how to use a basic Sign-up form in iContact for people to sign up for your events. To review this post, click here.

In the past, company events for iContact have allowed us to reach a much wider audience in our community. Events are a great way to show your community involvement and to build new relationships with potential customers. If you plan on hosting an event in your community, make sure to invite other business owners and entrepreneurs in your area, or partner with them to further increase the scale of the event.

iContact held its 5th Anniversary celebration on July 18, and we’re looking forward to hosting many more in the future. I hope you have a great weekend, and I will be back next time with more email marketing tips and advice.

Cheers,

Ryan Allis
